If you want to clear out your user data, media, and files completely using a file manager app without running a factory reset, you can delete your folders manually. However, a file manager app cannot wipe system data or completely reset applications back to zero on its own.
You can use Files by Google (or your phone's built-in file explorer) to erase all personal files, followed by a manual wipe of app data:
Step 1: Wipe all Personal Media & Downloads using "Files"Open the Files by Google app.Tap the Browse tab at the bottom, scroll to the very bottom, and select Internal Storage.Open the Settings menu inside Files (three dots or menu icon) and toggle on Show hidden files.
This reveals hidden directories like system cache folders and image thumbnails (.thumbnails).Long-press on a folder to select it, then select all of the primary data folders:DCIM & Pictures (Deletes all local photos and screenshots).Download (Deletes all downloaded items).
Documents, Movies, and Music (Deletes local media files). Tap the trash icon and choose Permanently Delete (bypassing the Trash/Bin folder entirely).
Step 2: Clear Leftover App Configurations & System DataA file manager app is barred from modifying secure system and app partitions by Android's security architecture.
To clean up account configurations and application data without a reset, you must execute a manual app wipe:Open your main device Settings app and tap Apps (or Apps & Notifications).
Go through your high-data apps (Chrome, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.). Tap Storage & Cache, select Clear Data (or Clear Storage), and confirm. This signs you out and deletes databases, local settings, and account associations inside that specific app.
