How to crochet a purse? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to DIY a simple and sturdy purse. This purse is a part of a two-skein challenge, where I see how many unique crochet projects I can make using the full two skeins.

Crochet Hook: K/10.5 /6.5MM
Yarn: Lion Brand Yarn’s Re-Up 100% Recycled Cotton & Polyester Blend, 2 Skeins
Size: 4 Medium
Color: Full Moon

*NOTE: for this crochet purse, we will be working two strands like they are one for the entire project.

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 15, turn.
Row 2: Place 1 SC in each of the BACK BUMPS (15 total SC st). CH 1, turn. Please note that the CH 1 at the end of each row forming the handle is a turning CH and should not be counted as a st.
Row 3: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (15 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Row 4: Place 1 SC in the 1st 6 st, then SC 2together in st 7 &8. Place 1 SC in each of the remaining st in the row (14 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Row 5: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (14 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Row 6: Place 1 SC in each st in the row (14 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Row 7: Place 1 SC in each st in the row, SC 2together somewhere in the middle of the row - this doesn’t need to be in exact stitches, but avoid the outer stitches (13 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Rows 8 - 31: Repeat Rows 5 - 7 until you have decreased down to 4 stitches in the latest row.
Rows 32 - 60: Place 1 SC in each st in the row. CH 1, turn.
