In this woodturning video I create FOUR elemental themed bowls inspired by Earth, Wind, Fire and Water — all turned from beautiful Ash wood on the Harvey T60S wood lathe using carbide woodturning tools from Easy Wood Tools.
Each bowl was given its own unique finish to represent the element:
🌍 EARTH
Finished with Forest Green stain followed by Green Embellishing Wax for a rich organic look.
💨 WIND
Finished using a custom mix of Black and White Embellishing Waxes to create a soft grey wind-like effect.
🔥 FIRE
Finished with Burnt Orange stain and then Black Embellishing Wax to create a dramatic scorched appearance.
💧 WATER
Finished with Midnight Blue stain followed by Blue Embellishing Wax to give deep flowing water tones.
After shaping the outside profiles, I hollowed each bowl and refined them through sanding up to 240 grit using Klingspor abrasives. Final finishing steps included:
• Sanding Sealer
• Yorkshire Grit Abrasive Paste
• Microcrystalline Wax
