How to change default screenshot save location on Mac. In this tutorial I will show you how easy you can change the default screen capture location using a few commands in the terminal.
1. Create a new folder named “Screenshots” and locate it where you want all your screenshots to be saved. Or you can store your screenshots in a folder that you already have.
2. Press command+space and type: Terminal.
3. Copy and paste this command: defaults write com.apple.screencapture location (make sure you have a space after)
4. Dag and drop the folder you created for screenshots to the Terminal and press Enter.
5. Copy and paste this command: killall SystemUIServer
6. Press Enter.
Now when I have changed the location for saving my screenshots, my desktop looks a lot cleaner and more organized.
