In this video I try to build a house in Minecraft from a picture. It sounds easy enough, right? But actually it can be quite a challenge to get things down to scale and achieve the right feel of ie an older building in our beloved blocked game. We have to make a lot of design choices a long the way. And we have to be creative in our choices for a block palette and texturizing. In this video I try to account for all the significant choices I make and also show some alternatives you could have used instead. Building a structure from a photograph is more akin to a scale ranging from 1:1 reproduction to pure inspiration. Either way it's lot of work to build from a picture - but it's also a really great way to achieve good builds with realistic details in Minecraft.
