It’s common to think of practice as something contained. A set time, a mat, a clear beginning and end.
But life keeps moving through it.
Sometimes I am mid practice and my son asks for something simple, like peeling an orange. I’ve found these moments invite a different kind of attention. I lower into a squat, stay with my breath, and continue from there.
It becomes less about interrupting practice and more about including what is already happening.
As this pattern continues, the body begins to organize itself in a wider range of situations. Strength and softness are no longer limited to specific poses. They begin to show up in small, everyday actions.
What changes is how movement is lived, not just how it is performed.
