In the heart of Butuan, Philippines lies a culinary treasure that very few people know: Unaw. Made from the starch of the Lumbia tree, this humble ingredient sustained generations during times of hardship.

Unaw remains a symbol of resilience and tradition for the locals and plays an important role in Butuanon identity. Unaw is more than a food staple—it's a piece of our heritage that is slowly fading, with fewer hands keeping it on our tables.
