Welcome to Site Zero in Motala, Sweden – the world's largest sorting facility for plastic packaging.
Operated by Swedish Plastic Recycling, Site Zero uses innovative sorting technology to help more plastic packaging be recycled and reused.
Every year, the facility can sort up to 200,000 tonnes of plastic packaging. By separating plastic into 12 different material streams, more packaging can be recycled and transformed into new products instead of being incinerated.
The goal is simple: to keep valuable materials in circulation for longer and reduce the need for virgin fossil-based plastics.
