Most farmers lose four to eight weeks of production every year during transition gaps — clearing, prepping, replanting. At $500/week per greenhouse, that's up to $3,000 lost from the same space.
This video covers seven principles for compressing those gaps down to two weeks or less without heated greenhouses or expensive infrastructure. The core technique: inter-planting. Transplant the next crop into beds while the current crop is still being harvested. Tomatoes go into greens beds three to four weeks before the greens finish. Fall greens get seeded under the tomato canopy before the plants come out. A 12-year PNAS study confirmed relay planting increases yields while decreasing inputs.
