During the First Arab-Israeli War of 1948-49, Britain still kept significant military units just outside their former Palestine Mandate and RAF units regularly overflew the territories involved in the conflict. During such missions, RAF aircraft faced and fought those of both sides, Israel and the Arabs. This video shows such incidents in detail. It also covers the last aerial victory over a manned enemy aircraft, achieved by an RAF pilot flying an RAF aircraft.
