Beyond the beaches and resorts of Hawaii, a growing movement is working to reconnect Native Hawaiians with their language, land and traditions. At the heart of it is Daniel Anthony, a cultural educator, farmer and entrepreneur determined to bring kalo (taro) back to the center of Hawaiian life.
For Daniel, restoring traditional food is about far more than agriculture. It is about rebuilding identity after generations of cultural loss, teaching young people to value their roots, and passing on knowledge once pushed to the margins. Through language revival, community farming and education, a new generation is rediscovering what it means to be Hawaiian.
From school classrooms to taro fields, this documentary explores how culture can become a source of resilience, hope and renewal for an entire people.
