In this video, French shipbuilder Naval Group takes us to its Lorient shipyard to demonstrate how it is able to build the FDI frigates quickly, and deliver two vessels per year.

=====================

01:40 - Naval Group's Lorient shipyard specializes in the design and production of surface combatant. Following an extensive upgrade ahead of the FDI programme, the facility can now produce the new FDI frigates in 3 to 4 years, and can deliver two frigates per year.

This is achieved thanks to a mix of FDI design factors and infrastructures at the shipyard:
02:40 - The shipyard features three drydocks and two large cranes
03:09 - The PSIM (Panoramic Sensor & Intelligence Module)
05:22 - The use of digital tools and augmented reality
07:53 - Mega blocks pre-outfitted at 85% before final assembly
11:46 - Parallel final assembly: Two FDI hulls can take shape in the dry dock before their respective launch
