Naval News takes you on a tour aboard Italian Navy submarine ITS Romeo Romei (S 529), with the Commanding Officer and XO. Romeo Romei is the final Todaro-class Batch 2 submarine. Access and filming aboard submarines is usually very rare and restricted. Many thanks to the Italian Navy for giving Naval News this exclusive and detailed tour during Sea Future 2025.

The Todaro-class batch 2 refers to the second group of two Italian Type 212A diesel-electric attack submarines, built by Fincantieri, which are an upgraded version of the first batch. These submarines, named ITS Pietro Venuti and ITS Romeo Romei, feature a new sonar system, upgraded telecommunication system, and the new Black Shark Advanced heavy torpedo, compared to the first batch.
These submarines feature diesel-electric/AIP (Air-Independent Propulsion). They were built under license by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri.
