This was probably one of the most daunting videos I tried to accomplish but I seriously hope you guys enjoyed this and at least learned something from it. I was extremely hesitant about making this video since I’m not a fan of recording my voice (especially if I am doing something that’s scripted) but I figured I at least give it a shot. A HUGE thanks to Awosomeandy for helping me get Doc Louis’s Punch-Out. Without him I probably wouldn’t be in this position. This was a very fun DLC to play but I wanted to take it a step further and see if I can try and speedrun the 3 ILs in this game; Warm-up, Training, and Sparring. I went with sparring because it only has 5 inputs in this fight compared to Training’s 8 and Warm-up’s 9.
However, I was surprised at times to find myself really worked up on this IL. To be fair I had a good reason, it turns out that some of Doc’s recoil animations are timer-based and which means I have to get to the fight at a specific point for him to have a fast recoil at the end. That was HARD because if you are frame perfect up until the final hook he will have a long recoil animation killing the attempt. You need to lose 1 frame somewhere in the fight for him the do the short animation. When I was VCing with Andy, he summed up this fight perfectly imo. “It’s like TD Bear with a narrow-margin”.

I... I dont know what to say...
So Zallard1 took back the WR with a 34.46 which beat my previous WR/PB by 1 frame. I wanted to take it back but I didnt want to tie it, I wanted to beat it since this was the only profile I have left (Profile that has 100 losses which allows you to get headgear btw). I did beat it but I was expecting to get a 34.40 or something but no... this is WAY better than I thought it was going to be.
Will I still grind this fight in the future? Maybe... that is until somebody beats this but I think I did a good job making that hard to accomplish for other people. Including myself. But for now, Im glad to put TD Bull and this guy behind my back.
Oh and for those wondering, this was literally a 15-minute session LMAO. And this is my 14th 2:35 Phase 2 knockdown which is roughly a 3ish frame window.

Got very lucky on this considering Bob is well known for dancing around during his first phase. Just like with Aran, this took only 2 frame perfect phase 1s, first one failed because bob has a 3/8 chance of letting the super through during Phase 2 and got unlucky with that one attempt.

Anyways, I was originally doing PAL Hoy since I personally find him harder than the other 3 PAL ILs I did. But I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I think I have like 13 frame perfect phase ones on Hoy but still no luck in the later phases. (Only got 4 frame perfect P2s but couldnt close out P3) This is why I switched to this IL because I think its more fun and def a lot easier, even if it is going against what my plan was, I just need a break from something.
The fight is no different when compared to NTSC, phase 3 still sucks tho. I honestly thought I timed both the first and last supers incorrectly but whatever its done lol.")

TAS for this fight has been 22.58 for a couple of years, that all changes today. Me and Andy went strat hunting on TD Disco Kid because we both believed that there could be something faster for this guy... We almost gave up because we were running out of options but then I thought lets try skipping his first taunt. I tested this and I was able to come up with this strat that requires 15 frame non buffered inputs + motion controls. Not a fun combination but hey at least sub 22 might be possible.")

This one took a little bit, but for all the wrong reasons. For awhile now I was playing on the SNES9X version of this game but then I had a 3-hour session where I didnt get a single frame perfect Phase 1, I would always get 2 frames off. Even with savestates.
So then I checked and thought, what if I switched the BSNES? And it worked and it only took 30 minutes for me to tie the TAS once that issue was resolved.
Oh and this fight still sucks and the experience wasnt that pleasant, although I got this quicker compared to the NTSC (which was tedious and I never want to do it again) it was still a challenging IL.
But at last, its finally done. Next up is Hoy/Bull probably.")
