10/25/2024 - Police receive a 911 call from an auto mechanic shop owner where a stranger with no shirt has just entered the property and began viciously attacking the shop owner before clawing at his face
Case Outcome:
- Brian was charged with aggravated battery, battery on a person 65 years or older, criminal mischief $1000 or more, and resisting an officer with violence
- At the first appearance on October 26, the court found probable cause, appointed a public defender, and set bond totaling $24,000 across the charges
- A no-contact order was issued to protect the victim
- The defendant later posted bond and was released from custody on November 5, 2024
However, on November 19, the State reduced or dropped some charges:
- No action was taken on the aggravated battery and criminal mischief charges
- The defendant pleaded not guilty and waived arraignment! Since then, multiple court hearings have been scheduled and continued, but the defendant has repeatedly failed to appear, causing delays
- The most recent update on July 8, 2025, shows the defense filed a motion to compel the State to produce the CAD report, likely seeking dispatch records relevant to the case
- The case remains open and pending as of now, with the next hearing scheduled for July 23, 2025!
