On October 20, 2024, at approximately 10:22 hours, an officer from the City of Palm Bay Police Department responded to an assist Fire Department call for service regarding a juvenile locked in a car. Call details indicated the vehicle was off, windows were rolled up, and the juvenile had been inside for approximately 10 minutes.
Upon arrival at 10:28 hours, the officer observed a male subject standing outside the vehicle and a young juvenile in the front passenger seat. The juvenile was in visible distress, sweating profusely, crying, and showing signs of passing out.
After Fire Rescue opened the door, the officer observed a moderate odor of marijuana and fresh marijuana bud/leaves on the seat, with a piece attached to the juvenile's back. The subject told the officer that the marijuana was "nothing to worry about". A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded revolver in an unlocked case next to the carseat in the back of the vehicle.
