Greetings, I will be rambling on about something as of late that I've been wanting to get off my chest, and it's about my realizations with just how relying on saves too much diminished the enjoyment of certain games I could of enjoyed more, especially in the realm of retro gaming. Games are enjoyed for a variety of reasons, but my habits towards save scumming and quick save abuse in games also ruined the challenge and risk factor they could've given me for a more fulfilling experience. Which is why I'm undertaking a unique journey of experiencing the game for what it is, not stressing about losing data all the time. Whether it'd be challenges or casual playthroughs, I want to play in the moment from now on, because at the end of the day, it's just a game, and if it's fun, that's all that matters.
Saving will have a place in my journey, but not in the same way it used to be anymore. For me, it is no longer important, and if I lose the save, it does not matter.
In saying that, this is a topic I really wanted to discuss and I'm still learning about my new discoveries in gaming. So if you agree or disagree, feel free to say so, any feedback is appreciated.
