Hi there everyone, and thanks for joining me today. One of the challenges of great leadership is figuring out how to show your team that you believe in them. If you believe in them, they have the motivation and confidence to move forward and do great things for the organization. So what I’d like to cover today is two main things that you want to do to help show your team that you believe in them. The first thing is to communicate more with them, but not just communicating more as far as “Hi’s” and “Bye’s” and checking up on them over the course of their day. Communicating with them in a little more of a deeper way. And so you want to ask them what they need from you to work at their best. Start asking them those important questions about them, and how they can help the organization, because when you make it about them, then they know that you value them enough to take the focus off of yourself, and off of the organization as a whole. So you want to find out what it is that you can do to help them be their best. And then, when you get an answer, you start working on it. Action is what really proves things out. Lots of people talk about things that they want to do. You’ll have big meetings about certain things and then nothing will come of it. So if you back that up with action, then you support that philosophy that you believe in them and believe they can accomplish great things. So you get to work on what it is that they need from you and from the organization to work at their best. The second thing that you want to do is you want to develop them. If you believe in somebody. If you believe that they can accomplish great things. Then you start working with them on getting the steps so that they can get to those places that you believe they can get to. So you want to come up with an employee development plan. These are why those important conversations that you have about how you can help them and about where people want to go. That’s why these things are so important, because they create that foundation of confidence that “My boss knows what is important to me, where I want to go, and my boss is actively doing things to support me in those endeavors.” And when you can put action behind what you discover from that communication, then people will start believing that you believe in them, and then you can accomplish great things in the organization. Thanks so much, have a good one.
