It’s been more than a year since we launched Worm Watch Lab wormwatchlab.org/, a project where people watch videos of tiny nematode worms and count how many times they’ve laid eggs ― all in the name of #science. Here we look at some of the weirdest worms that our worm watchers have spotted.
The Worm Watch Lab project was a collaboration between the Zooniverse and the Medical Research Council. Volunteers were asked to watch a short video of nematode worms and mark when they saw an egg being laid. The #researchers were discovering how #genes affect behaviour in nematode worms. These discoveries can help us understand our own genes, too.
