This is part 2 of an ongoing series. In the last video I gave a rough overview of the project. This opens with me purchasing the metal I need to build the raised roof racks I designed to mount 4 x 450 watt residential solar panels on a 2021 Jayco Eagle. This roof gave me a unique opportunity to finally install a system I have been thinking about for a year or so now. While I love the roof access and serviceability for the solar and roof attachments, this is a crazy amount of work compared to normal foot mounted RV solar panels. However, I have quickly learned while playing with all this solar, just a little bit of shading on one panel can kill the output even with a high quality MPPT charger so raising the panels above any shading surface is a huge improvement. While I don't think this is the best DIY project or "how to" video, I hope there is some useful ideas or information others can use from it.
Thanks for watching!!
