So it is no surprise to anyone watching this series that the entry door of the 1996 Liberty Bus is just ugly and worn. While I could have gone elaborate and over-the-top like most bus converters, I decided to keep the remodel within my wheelhouse and just add a very simple mirrored stainless steel kick panel to blend into the stepwell and honestly protect the door from further damage. I used wall mirror J-channel to secure it and keep it serviceable. Now while I was in there, I also decided that while plain and simple is nice on a bus that is already flamboyant, why not add a small exterior detail that very few bus converters or even luxury motorhome builder have somehow refused to: a custom puddle light. For $1.7 to $3+ million, you would think these builders would be able to really impress the owners and the visitors to their flagship products at the front door, but I guess a simple projector spotlight is one-step too far....for now.
At any rate, I am sure custompuddlelights.com was way too expensive to source the lights, but everything else I found was cheap and their websites were very unclear how to customize the projection.
