This is Naan 🫓, a staple food in #Afghanistan. Communities often use the fortified wheat flour they receive in WFP’s food baskets to make fresh naan. Also, WFP supports many of the local bakeries that produce Naan during emergencies, when access becomes difficult.

Edith’s peanut butter is more than just a delicious spread. It’s a business she built from scratch five years ago, which got a boost in 2021 thanks to a #WFP urban resilience programme funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). For Edith, a single mother of four, her business means building a better future for her family - and those of the women she’s been able to hire to help her (1 to 2 women, depending on demand/the production season). “I feel good because now I have managed to help another family [through hiring someone]”, Edith explains. As a single mother of four, including an adult son with a disability, this means a lot to Edith🧡
In 2023, WFP supported more than 10,000 households in the country through this programme.
Strengthening local food systems is key to reducing humanitarian needs and creating a #ZeroHunger world. Ever wondered how peanut butter is made?🥜 Watch Edith make hers in #Zimbabwe](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/AhbSUuDDQP8/mqdefault.jpg)
