In this video I spend some time experimenting with my target compound setup and testing three different release styles to see what I like. I’m shooting my Mathews TRX 38 G2 with a few recent changes including different stabilizers, a different sight and scope, and most importantly three different releases.
I shoot with an Onnex clicker release, a thumb trigger, and a back tension with a click. I’m not trying to declare a winner or say one release is better than the others. This video is more about shot execution, feel, and deciding which one I like best.
As I shoot, I talk through what I’m feeling, what’s working, what isn’t, and some unexpected things I noticed, especially around breathing, timing, and execution. This is very much a thinking out loud style video where you get to see what I’m working through in real time.
