Have you ever wondered how a touchless soap dispenser knows when you need soap? You'll find out the magic here.

It uses an infrared beam mounted in the nozzle and as you can see the beam is pulsed and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The sensor pickup is that red part on the front of the unit. When the sensor detects when the beam is broken that causes the unit to dispense soap.
