While a single light can create stunning studio images, adding a second strobe helps create even more control, depth and dimension. In this video, I demonstrate how to take a simple two-light setup and achieve three distinct looks by changing only the position/modifier of the second light. By keeping the main light constant, we explore how to use a secondary source as a background light, a rim light, and a creative fill to transform the aesthetic of your images.

Our Lighting setup in this video:
Main Light: Profoto Pro D3 with a 4-foot Octabox feathered across the frame.
Variation 1: Second light used as a background light (high power) to turn gray paper white.
Variation 2: Second light used as a rim light with a 1x4 strip softbox and grid for separation on the hair and jaw.
Variation 3: Second light used as a fill light with a teal gel for creative editorial effects
