UPDATE: Zane was adopted by a young woman a few months after this video. They're in love and living happily ever after in Oklahoma.

Swingin' D Horse Rescue saved Zane from slaughter in March 2017. He's been living peacefully on our ranch since then, but had choking incidents three days in a row. The latest one was especially frightening and required an emergency veterinary visit. Here's what esophageal choke looks like, and how we handled it.

We understand and respect that other people handle horses and their special needs in different ways. This is our way and our channel.

Swingin' D Horse Rescue saves horses from the slaughter pipeline, nurses them back to health, evaluates and trains them, then adopts them to responsible owners. In 2017, we saved and placed about 23 horses and mules. We survive on donations and adoption fees. To learn more about our rescue and how you can support us, go to swingindhorserescue.com
