Another jingle of Plínio Salgado's campaign for the Presidency in 1955, after the election, Plínio supported the inauguration of President-elect Juscelino Kubitschek.

Later, in 1958, he was elected to represent the state of Paraná in the Chamber of Deputies. He would be re-elected in 1962, this time to represent the state of São Paulo. Two years later, he eventually betrayed Brazil by supporting the Coup in 1964 (I prefer to believe that he was manipulated to do this).

Plínio Salgado died in 1975, at the age of 80, in São Paulo, having been buried in Morumbi Cemetery.

$A grande perda do Brasil - Getúlio Vargas tribute song On August 24 at the Catete Palace, to prevent a civic-military coup, Getúlio Vargas committed suicide. The damage was so large that the army had to be sent (following his orders) to prevent the leaders of the opposition from being killed by a angry mob, the US ambassy was stoned, US banks got burned, the Globo newspaper led by oligarch Roberto Marinho had their trucks rolled over on the streets (The Globo newspaper used to publish lying headlines calling Vargas as corrupt and murderer). 10 years later, with the support the US Navy, the brazilian right finally pulled a coup, and a 21 year long US sponsored dictatorship took power. Music sung by Gildo de Freitas, artistic name of Leovegildo José de Freitas was a singer, composer and trovadeour, known as The king of trovadours and The King of improvisation.
