The Sección Femenina was the women's branch of the Falange Española de las JONS, and later of the FET and of las JONS. The Sección Femenina was formed in Madrid in 1934.
It was led by Pilar Primo de Rivera (In the picture), the younger sister of José Antonio Primo de Rivera. At one point, the Sección Femenina had almost monopolistic power, as it was the only female organ of organization and action that existed during the Franco regime (there were also the "Margaritas" of the Carlist movement, but after the Civil War, there was a Decree of Unification proclaimed by Franco).
Two years after Franco's death, the Sección Femenina was formally dissolved in 1977.
