Nightclub singer Loretta dreams of escaping the dangerous life she has been trapped in and earning enough money to give her young daughter a safe, normal future. But leaving her jealous and possessive boyfriend, gangster George Genero, is not as simple as she hopes. Just when Loretta begins to believe there is no way out, she meets Andrew, a man who offers her something she has almost forgotten existed: a chance at love, freedom, and a new life.
