A community activist accused of murdering two police officers, one of them his ex-wife, is unexpectedly acquitted when the prosecution’s key evidence is ruled inadmissible. Convinced that the verdict has allowed a killer to walk free, the arresting detective takes the judge, jury, and defendant hostage, turning the courtroom into an improvised retrial. With the doors locked and no way out, he begins presenting the evidence that was suppressed, forcing everyone inside to confront the possibility that the truth behind the murders is far more complicated than anyone imagined.
