In honor of the Japanese American WWII veterans who passed away since last year's Evening of Aloha, we are honored to share this year's "In Memoriam" tribute featuring hula performances by Christie Kimura from Kahului, Brenda Sekigawa from Honolulu, Staci Toji from Los Angeles and Lux Umetani from Denver. Award-winning musician Daniel Ho performed Aloha O'e, and Staci Toji sang the Hawai'i regional anthem, Hawai'i Pono'ī. This year we honored 49 veterans, each of whom made tremendous impacts for the betterment of the Japanese American community. To these veterans we say okage sama de -- because of them, we are who we are today.
