On August 17, 2019, a Hong Kong Anti-Extradition Protest was held in Vancouver Canada at the Broadway City Hall Skytrain station. An Anti-Violence, One China Pro-China group organized a rally in reaction. [Similar events held in Toronto Canada, London UK, Sydney and Melbourne Australia etc.] From 4-8PM, the two groups confronted each other just outside the Skytrain Broadway City Hall station. There was a scheduled meeting on the same night at 9PM for both groups to meet again in a pedestrian-only area at the intersection between Granville Street and Robson Street. About one thousand supporters of the pro-China group was there but the anti-Extradition, Free Hong Kong and pro-democracy group was nowhere in sight. The pro-China or pro-Beijing group, most of them youngsters and under 30, shouted such slogans as 'no violence, no Hong Kong separatists, One China, Hong Kong is Part of China, Love China, Love Hong Kong' etc. in unison and jubilation. After about 50 minutes, the group left peacefully and in an orderly manner.
