The opening track from my upcoming Final Fantasy V instrumental cover album: Unknown Lands.

The Final Fantasy series has always been my favorite video game series of all time - however, last summer I realized that I had never played Final Fantasy V. I decided I would jump into it and make a cover album once I got a feel for the characters and story. The result was 10 tracks of jammy, instrumental, video game covers. When I began playing with the pieces, I found that many of them left quite a lot of space for musical exploration, so the direction I took was to try to incorporate all the familiar elements of the Final Fantasy sound world we all know and love, but put them in a new sonic landscape.

This album is also important for me because it is the first full length album that I created entirely by myself, and is my first attempt at engineering/producing. I'll be posting a few tracks here on YouTube each week until there's none left, then maybe posting on the streaming platforms after that.
