Today when Steve and Linda Oikawa perform Steve’s hemodialysis the process looks smooth and practiced with military precision.
This was not always the case.
When they first began training for home hemo, they were both daunted by the prospect of doing everything on their own.
But the team at the Scarborough Health Network helped them until they were both comfortable to do it on their own.
They had good teachers, and now they’re seasoned veterans of hemodialysis.
The Scarborough Health Network has sponsored the creation of over a hundred educational videos for type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

In 2022, this YouTube channel was rebranded as Manitoba Moonshot.
The Manitoba Moonshot is a front-row seat watching one Canadian family trying to end type 2 diabetes.
