Historical Belle | Historically Accurate Erika Outfit: Barbie Princess and the Pauper @HistoricalBelle | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
On September 28, 2004 one of the BEST Barbie movies of all time was released, Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper! Barbie plays both of the main characters, Princess Anneliese and Erika, the pauper who is a a poor village girl and indentured servant to Madame Carp. Erika was easily one of my favorite characters from a Barbie movie ever, because she was a main character who looked like me.
Melissa of @HattoHem and I were chatting after our Little Women collab about the new Barbie movie coming out this summer, and how it would be so much fun to do a Barbie collab, and we realized that we both had loved Erika from The Princess and the Pauper. SO we thought it would be great to explore different sides of Erika, Melissa made the screen accurate version of her dress and I decided to make a "Historically Accurate" version of what Erika could have looked like in the mid 1700's.
