Historical Belle | Making a Regency Era Tail Coat in 24 Hours | The Bridgerton Project @HistoricalBelle | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
My love and I have a few Bridgerton themed events coming up, and given that he does not have any Regency Era attire, I obviously need to make him an ensemble!
I started with the vest, which you can watch the making of in my last video, and then moved on to a regency era tailcoat. For this project I sent my husband to the fabric store to pick out a blue wool and I also purchased Laughing Moon Pattern 122.
As Bridgerton begins in 1813, I decided to make an 1810's ensemble for my love, centering the outfit around 1814 since that is when season 2 takes place.
I really enjoy making costumes for my love for our historical adventures. It also helps broaden my skills as I have not ventured into men's fashion as much. I feel like I have gained a lot of confidence in making men's wear through making the regency era vest and this tailcoat and I am very happy with the progress that I have made.
