In this episode of Dig Deeper, staff archaeologist Lesley Jennings explains the importance of Historical Archaeology and the use of historic documents in understanding the excavations at Historic Jamestown. For the process of Historical Archaeology, historic documents such as letters and books are examined to find information regarding previous activities at the site and to inform what is being found in the field.
