Yeah, this is definitely more roughly animated and I partially believe that it’s because I was very experimental with this part. Trying different lighting techniques, detailing, editing, etc. and it shows. I also completely forgot about the line art a month ago and that definitely played a hand in how odd this looks, but hey! I’ll take it!
Thar was once a thief and assassin for the Bland Sand Syndicate, skilled and talented. After it’s fall, she tried to live a more honest life, becoming married, having two dragonets, divorcing her husband and then raising her children on her own. However, the Kingdom of Sand was in poor shape. Having just gotten out of a civil war between to royal families and a near take over by a crime syndicate, the kingdom and its citizens needed to recover. Unfortunately, two thieves would not give it the rest it desperately needed. Queen Quail is left even more powerless when the Eye of Onyx is stolen from her and as a result, she stoops to low measures, hiring another thief, Thar to track down the two and bring her back the eye. Thar was able to complete the task, as she is a skilled tracker and brought the eye back. Surprisingly, it did not vaporize her or even harm her and Queen Quail forfeited her role as Queen to Thar. At first, Thar was confused. After all, she was a lowly thief and her heart was not pure. Not at all. She even brought up the fact that the same crime syndicate that tried to take the kingdom was the one who raised her. Quail remained firm in her decision, point out that Thar genuinely cared for the lower classes, more so than Quail ever had, and as a commoner, she would be more empathetic towards her subjects. Thar finally accepted, with the support of good friend, a fireless SkyWing named Extinguish, and the entire SandWing kingdom behind her.
