Back before Christmas, we were at @korkeasaari in Finland taking part in the Nordic Zookeeper Summet. We spent one of the two days giving presentations, as well as running two practical workshops. During these workshops, the animal carers were tasked with building some jacks that would be tested with several species, including the camels and takin. Each jack has seven internal chambers, and the device has to be rolled in order for the food to work its way through the chambers and out through a hole.
It was awesome to spend a couple of days with loads of great animal carers, and to see the takin rolling the jack all over the place was the icing on the cake. Thanks again for having us!
