We were recently at Yorkshire Wildlife Park for a full-day team-building event. For a long time, the keepers had been asking us for a platform for the giant otters, and this fantastic group were the perfect fit for this build.
Split into three teams, the groups each took a different part of the build, and then moved onto a different section as each task was completed. The platforms were created with chestnut poles for uprights, and were also clad with half-round chestnut on any public-facing areas. They were also shaped into ovals and teardrop shapes to help keep the natural curves of the lake. The main feature is the upper platform overhanging the lake to allow the otters to use it as a diving platform.
A huge well done to the team, you all did an amazing job, and the completed platforms look fantastic.
