Have you ever been let down by a spiritual leader or mentor in your life? We have a phenomenon today of "deconstruction," whereby prominent Christians often question and thus "deconstruct" their faith. Sometimes they don't deconstruct their faith, but get caught up in sin and lose their ministries. What do we do? Should we also question our own faith?
Fortunately, the Bible speaks to this. In Hebrews 3:1-6, the author tells the Hebrew Christians that although Moses was a great guy, Jesus was better. They were not to follow Moses, but Jesus.
The advice is the same to us. We can learn from the teaching and example of leaders (and even musicians), but we should believe what we believe because it is true, not because someone else believes it.
