One day in May I was picking my guitar over at the depot in Mendota, IL and this song came to me. The way I was feeling at the time was extreme anxiety, restlessness and frustration with feeling "stuck" in my living arrangement and a strong desire to get out of that situation. So in my anguish I called out to Mother and Father who are no longer alive, but hoping they would hear me and maybe they'd "pull some strings" in the great beyond. Long story short I did get out of that apartment on July 28, 2023. The apartment itself, the view, the space, my Landlord were all great but it was the people around me. To have to listen to others play their loud music, smell their smoke, and hear them having sex was more than I could handle. Also having to use the same entrance door as they did and them slamming the door and trash stinking, it was no longer sustainable. I moved there quickly because my Mother and shortly afterwards in Dec 2022 she had passed. So I had enough stress in my life.My music was the only thing holding me together.
When my Mother passed I had a dream of her which was very vivid and clear. She wanted to say an official goodbye and let me know she was okay. The verse, "These roads they cross, the earth and the skies, you wave a goodbye, so much love in your smile..." that lyric is from the dream.
Anyway, my brother Kevin adds drums to this tune and if ya want to check out more of his drumming just google his name KEVIN TUTAJ and his You Tube channel will pop up.
I thank you all for listening. Enjoy the video and the little clips of me when I was a young lad. I remember swing on the swing set and singing alot. Music flooded me even at that early age. For some reason the swing set was a stage to me and I sang and sang the hits of the 1970's etc. "Rain drops keep falling on my head," was one of them. The school seen in the video is ole Jefferson school in LaSalle IL where I went to school from Kindergarten to 4th grade.
