FOR THE RAILFANS: I have been waiting for weeks for Amtrak's Southwest Chief No. 3 to be on time into Winslow so I can video capture it i daylight. If it was on time it would arrive at 7:26pm oly about 15 minutes before the sun sets. But, on July 11th it was 11 hours and 4 miutes late which caused it to arrive at 6:30am. Sun rise is at 5:17 so I was in luck. Unfortunately the passengers were ot too happy about the train being so late. It happens. So when you ride Amtrak long distance you best not be in a big hurry. But if you have not taken a long distance train trip on Amtrak I would suggest you do. It is an experience you will want to enjoy. Travel by Train.
The video I captured here was not an easy task. I was shooting through a chain link fence. My tripod could only lean against it and with a train passing nearby it was difficult to keep it steady solid. The goig away shot was done with a different camera since I had no time to take the first video cam to get the going away shot.
I am currently compiling many freight and passeger train footage for a video I would like to do on Trains in Winslow, AZ.
