Here is my own special arrangement of the 2nd movement from Fantasia para un Gentilehombre, composed by Joaquin Rodrigo in 1954. The 2nd movement is adagio and called, "Espanoleta y Fanfare de la Caballeria de Napoles." I have always loved this work and dabbled around with the meldoy for years. I have probabbly had the sheet music for at least fifteen yrs. Finally, I tried to make a coherent (short) arrangement of some of my favorite excerpts from the long composition originally inteneded for guitar and orchestra.
I took my guitar out to the "wrong side of the tracks," and decided to have some of nature in the background on a cloudy day. Easier said than done, lol. The noise from the trains, planes, sirens, wind, a passing van on the dirt road in front of me, and the loss of my camera holder for the tripod, made making this video a difficult undertaking.. I did have to ride my bike here, too and go under the tracks via a subway which has six flights of stairs. IT takes me to the "wrong side of the tracks," so I had to watch my surroundings and that explains the many head movements. This is Winslow, AZ, and it's not exactly filled with angels, so I guess I fit right in. Despite all the obstacles, I had a mindset to do it, I was hell-bent on doing it. Maybe this pandemic has made me more crazy. Yes, it has. So, I hope you will enjoy this beautiful melody and the arrangement I have put together.
