It's an autobiography written in Jimmy's straightforward conversational style, but writer Scott England assisted Jimmy with the project. This time, because I spoke so much in the video, there isn't quite as much to say here in the description. I know that some Acorns like to have the song isolated in the video so they can make it part of a play list that they listen to as they go about their day. For those folks, I placed a link below to an unlisted video that features only the music (with no talking). You may notice in the scan of the original lyrics sheet that I found from Pap, he called the song "Heaven's to Gain." Pap usually didn't put much thought into choosing the title of a song; at least not in terms of how the title would appear on the cover of an album, how much room the title would take up, how it would be perceived to someone who had never heard the song, etc. Sometimes, he referred to his songs with just the first line of the song, or perhaps with a key line or phrase from the chorus. When the song appeared on the first iteration of The Little White Church album, the title was listed as "Hell's to Shun." On the cassette shown in this video, it was listed as "Hell's to Shun." I thought about listing it here on YouTube as "Heaven's to Gain" to be more positive, but then I thought that "Hell to Shun" might catch more people's attention. I will have to decide one way or the other when I file for the copyright. You can let me know in the comments which title you think is best and whether or not you think it's better to sing the song with out the contractions in the chorus. The variation in the titles that Pap used may cause some delays and extra communication/explanation with the copyright examiners. If I sent them all three audio files in this video, they would ask, "which of these three songs are you copyrighting?" rather than seeing that it's all the same song. Minor changes, like singing "hell" instead of "hell's," or like making a different guitar run in a certain part of a song does not constitute or create two different songs (in my opinion), but they don't usually see it that way. I'm sure they're just following their training, and they're always very nice in our interactions. I forgot to say in the video that our group, Hickory Stand, will be playing at Hillcrest Orchard in Ellijay, Georgia, this coming Sunday, September 21st, at 1:00 (2025). It will be a marathon set (one hour and fifteen minutes, with no talking in between songs). The set list that I prepared is 26 songs! I just hope I don't lose my voice. :-) The orchard is a great family destination, with lots of things for young and old. There's a petting zoo, hay rides, pig races, lots of food vendors, all manner of apple related products and souvenirs. I think there might even be a little train for kids to ride. I believe admission is $25 for adults. Admission covers everything but food. The food is reasonably priced for a place like that. I saw that I burger meal is $12. Not cheap, but not outrageous. If you decide to go, be prepared to drive by multiple other busy orchards on GA Hwy 52 in order to reach Hillcrest. Apparently, the major industry or economy in Ellijay is based on apples! :-)
