Granny was so touched by all the Christmas cards, gifts, and prayers that you all sent to her for Christmas, that she wanted to do something special to return the favor. She noticed that many of the cards mentioned how much people like to hear her sing, so she wanted to close out 2025 by sharing another video of us singing together. She was gussied up for Tipper to take her to one of her appointments, and I grabbed the guitar and camera. Granny and I both have always loved this song, though we never tried to sing it together, and to my knowledge, she never sang it with Pap. I was reminded of the song by our friends over on the Rowland Zimmerman Family channel. Rowland and his son, Ryan, sang the hymn in one of their recent live performances (see link below).
I expect that someone in the comments will mention that we need to have Granny sing into a microphone. That's a wonderful idea. There's just one problem. Granny doesn't want to sing into a microphone. :-) To try to balance the volume a little better, I tried to pull my volume down a little and aim my voice away from the camera, while reminding Granny to aim hers toward the camera. Hopefully, you will be able to hear her well enough. I can hear her fine on my computer, but cell phones might be a different story.
While researching this song, I found a really pretty choir version (link below). I also learned that one of the most well known recordings of it is by the great Slim Whitman (link below). Slim recorded the song in 1960. Granny and I hope you enjoy this hymn and that you try to live your life as described in the song, by trusting in the unfailing hand of the Lord.
