Hecatomb were a Polish death/doom metal band, formed in 1991. As far as I know, they released only 2 tapes, "Second Side..." being their debut, and "Clandestine Beauty" somewhere around '93/'94.
It's a super gritty sound, a proof of the super amateurish recording, but it still shines when it comes to the riffing. Some segments inside the songs feel disjointed, yeah, but what would death metal be without some musically illiterate fellas that only know how to write riffs and nothing else?
Some bits get crazy in here thanks to that disjointedness (is that even a word?), but you can bury me alive if you don't think thats pure old school clusmy charm. Fuck yeah, give me more of that.

Disfoterror are a Brazillian death/war metal band. Formed in 1993, they have released 5 demos, this being their second one, 2 splits, 1 EP and a debut album in 2023.
Disforterrors second demo is pretty much the same thing as the first but slightly more catchy, Id say. Still chaotic, still war metal, still with a bunch of fret vomit - but man, its good. Just like last time, if you really arent able to overlook the sound quality I wouldnt recommend this to you, but if youre used to this kind of deal its a really neat demo.

Sickness were a Floridian death metal band, having released the Torture of Existence demo in 1994 that I uploaded a long time ago.
Unlike the demo, Ornaments of Mutilation is more straight foward and has less tempo variation. Its also shorter somehow. They decided to change the production for the album, which ended up sounding a bit weird sometimes, but its fairly easy to get over that. Also, the debut has triple the blast beats the demo had, sometimes sounds like they wanted to make a deathgrind album.

Demontuary are an American death metal band with some black metal tinges. They originally formed in 1997, under Of the Fallen , and had an almost pure symphonic black metal sound. In 2002, the release year of this demo, they changed their name and have been active as Demontuary ever since.
Im generally not into metal from the 2000s, its a decade that didnt really create a lot of good music for my tastes - but that doesnt mean there arent any exceptions. Demontuarys self-titled demo is a great example of how you should mix straight up death metal with symphonic black roots (and even some clean singing!). They introduce a lot of orchestral and heavily melodic moments without losing any of the death metal essence.

Strangulation were a death metal band from Brazil. They formed in 1991 and released 2 demos and an album.
Hubris was this bands second release and its nothing more than a really cool and compact death metal demo. Feels like a midpoint between that Death/Possessed style of death metal, very thrashy, and the heavier, thicker sound you can associate with projects that started appearing in the early 90s.

Abscesy were a Czech deathgrind band. Formed in 1994, only released 2 demos, Fucked and Drawing being their first one.
As you can see by the track lengths, Abscesy keeps it mostly straight to the point, not much bullshit is thrown around, just riff after riff with a little of indistinguishable chaotic riffs with noisy blast beats. There is also a noticeable brutal death influence on their sound.
Abscesy are gross.

Unsouled were a Canadian death metal band. Formed in 1992, the band only released this demo in the same year, disbanding in 1993 after their drummer had a snowmobile accident.
These Québécois dropped a super murky and dirty demo, with hints of Morbid Angel, Deicide and Immolation. If it wasnt for the skippable intro and outro, this demo should be more well known.

Infanticide were a Californian brutal death metal band, active from 1993 to 1997. During that time, this band with a very unique and not overused name, only had this demo to show off as an official release.
If youre into early 90s brutal death that leans a bit more to the death than to the brutal, you know what this demo has in store for you. Akin to bands such as Sepsism, Excoriate - Dead Molestation, Embalmed or even Gorelust. I just wish I could see the original cover art for this, or even just the band logo!

Seventh Gate were an Americand death/thrash metal band. They released 2 tapes, this one in 89 and a second one in 90.
Their sound is still heavily rooted in thrash metal (as to be expected from something from the 80s) and they still employ some vocal techniques used more commonly in that genre - to a gret effect if I may add), but since the vocals do get raspy and the songs are more mid-tempo than anything else it already sounds like death metal.
If nothing else, its an interesting to how the genres were evolving in the late 80s.

Streetcleaner were a hardcore band from Illinois, USA. I have no idea when they formed, disbanded or if they released more material (I sure wish they did) since little to no information about this band is available online.
This upload sticks out like a sore thumb since its possibly the first upload on the channel thats not primarily metal - however, if youre into the more chaotic side of sludge metal or hardcore punk, this demo is the right thing for you. Super drudgy guitars, sore throat screams (often processed through guitar amps) and a huge fuck you attitude.
Man, I love punk so much...

Necrologi were a 5 piece death/thrash metal band from Catalonia, Spain. This self titled demo with a baller skeleton is the only thing they ever put out there.
This is a very amateurish demo, no one is really super proficient with their instruments and that adds up to a very natural feeling demo for those with a knack for that DIY feel. They never really have fast tempos, which is another DIY stamp from those smaller bands with members that never really played music other for the love of it.
