The Magic of Heat Pumps in Blatchford Carbon Neutral Community
There is no natural gas heating in Blatchford; instead, they rely on the magic of heat pumps to upgrade heat pulled from 570 bore holes beneath a lake in the community to heat homes in the cold Canadian winters, which can reach -30C.
Residents we spoke with also absolutely love that these heat pumps also cool their homes very efficiently, providing relief from heat waves that have recently reached +37C.

We met up with Steve Oslanski of Envirotech Geothermal, who explained how it all works.
