![My Very First Software [1996 PC VG] - overview and music featurette
My Very First Software was created in 1996 by VroomBooks Interactive. Renae Jacobs (the voice of April ONeil in the original 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon) voices Cybee, a flying robot who teaches little kids how to point, click, double-click, drag, and use a keyboard to press keys. When my sister and I were growing up in the 90s, this was a fun thing we played that strengthened our basic computer skills. Here is a selection of how the game begins and ends, with its major music themes and minigame transitions featured. The game has more to it than this, including a jukebox with more songs, but I wont share those, at least not today. ![My Very First Software (3) - Jukebox songs
This video was inspired by a comment by Jason Klavir on my June 2021 upload of this games overview I did. Musically, I think this might be the highlight of the game, since the musical styles are really interesting to listen to. All music heard here was arranged/recorded by Jeff Essex.
The songs are:
[1 and 2] Frère Jacques (1780 - traditional French)
[3 and 4] Old MacDonald Had a Farm (1706 - Thomas dUrfey and Frederick Thomas Nettingham)
[5 and 6] Alouette (1879 - traditional French)
[7 and 8] The Itsy Bitsy Spider (1910 or earlier - English nursery rhyme)
[9 and 0] Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star (1806 - Ah! vous dirai-je, maman (traditional French) Jane Taylor (lyrics))
Hmm. Thats a lot of French influence. Anyway, as you can tell, the odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9) play the song normally, and the even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, and 0) play the song quickly and at a higher key. The four styles featured are traditional, country, jazz, and rock. Jazz and Rock in particular sound really cool in these arrangements.
0:38 - Traditional
3:33 - Country
5:42 - Jazz
8:47 - Rock My Very First Software (3) - Jukebox songs](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/TlorkGnMkYw/mqdefault.jpg)

![Anthropology reading - Chapter 24 Beginning of the End [originally uploaded in 2012]
After reading chapter 24 of JasonTheHumans Anthropology story (about Lyra from FiM), I came to the (SPOILER ALERT!) part where Discord appears and speaks. When I first read it, I read it out loud. I had so much fun doing so, that I wanted to record myself doing it, but if one does that, youve gotta read the whole chapter for context.
So thats what I do here. I read the narration, and voice all five characters. Lyra, her sister Chloe, her dad Thomas Michaelakos, and her mom, whose first name escapes me (if it was ever stated).
