I wrote this track following HarmonyCon 2022 with the swirl of emotions I felt as the con was ending. We ended up watching the G5 movie in the lobby with Ellie Ray and it was a such a fun experience, if a little bittersweet. This track is obviously inspired by Izzy's story. When I think about what drove her to travel somewhere she had never been, just on the hope to make a friend, her bright personality with a lonely sadness just beneath the surface. I latched onto that scene where she showed her new friends her house and her brief flash of utter disappointment when the tea party was cut short. It goes to show what a beautiful, if naive, idea of what she thought friendship would be.To God be the glory

I wrote it fairly quickly in the space of a couple weeks, fueled by my own feeling of being a little broken inside. Like so many other sweetie bot songs, it has an aura of tragedy.This song has an undeniable spiritual element to it as well- the Christian concept of sin, of falling short of the glory of God, and though we so often yearn for something higher, we cannot achieve it under our own power. I feel like this song needs a followup, an answer to the question it asks. If this song is the first half of the Gospel, it needs the second half. Maybe one day. I want the song to emotionally resonate like this one has. Glory to God

First appearing on "Ponies at Dawn: Guardians", I wanted to revisit it when I was working on Tales and Legends Vol. 1 and utilize the skills I have improved upon since creating the original, but keeping the uncompromisingly earnest tone of this fantasy story. It very much follows the classic "David and Goliath" storyline, though with a bittersweet, tragic ending for our nameless hero. I wanted to give the song a mythological feel, and I can't deny the classic Disney Renaissance influences as well.This was one of the first tracks where I also utilized a guest singer, and Namii was absolutely wonderful for her part. Almost all vocals were re-recorded for this remaster, including her ending section. I'm happy to call this the definitive edition of this track!

Now with my better instruments, mixing skills, and recording techniques, I knew I wanted to give this song the makeover it deserved, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out- I hope you are too! I hope to make activity on this channel a little more consistent with at least one release a month- that way this channel has a little more excitement rather than random drops a few times a year.I wanted to start with the first track of the album, which really serves as a good jumping off point into the entire concept. This serves a pseudo origin story for my OC- the medieval bard who spun stories and then disappeared forever, leaving behind only the memories of the songs. Ironically, the singer declares they will never forget the blue pony bard, yet they don't even know his name. It is a mixture of the deep loneliness I felt at the time, the wonderful emotional premise of the film, and a desire to share the hope that, though weak, never left. If you are suffering from loneliness, depression, anxiety, I urge you to talk with someone. To let them know that you are suffering. I want to encourage you to seek out counseling, therapy, guidance. Don't suffer in silence. Even in the depths of my despair, there was a part of me that never gave up hope, that one day I would feel better. And that day did come. I talked with a pastor friend, and eventually I sought out therapy. With slow and steady progress, I came out of the deep dark pit I was in. If I may be so bold, God kept that hope alive in me. He is my Rock and Refuge, my hiding place in the middle of the storm. Without his help, I may have not made it out of that dark pit. I hope this song comforts and consoles you. I hope it encourages you to talk to someone.

I've been sitting on this song for a while, so I finally decided to release it. I'm going to attempt to get a song out for Christmas, as well as a 500 subscriber (!!!!) special. Now that the semester is finally over, maybe I'll be more productive with music stuff...I wanted this song to feel like it was constantly moving forward. I wanted to tell the story about what happened to tempest shadow a.k.a. berry twist when she "left to spread the news of the storm kings defeat". I'm aware that the comics have addressed this, but I haven't read them, so any connection with them is coincidental.I figure that after a worldview-altering event, she would need some time to process it, and that it would take time for her to accept her new identity. I actually draw some parallels with my own faith story. Jesus came into my life and radically altered the way I see the world. This wasn't something immediate, but is something that I have been growing into as I become more and more aware of who I am in Him. Sometimes my past comes to haunt me, as well as mistakes I have made even recently, but I am reminded that because of my faith in Jesus I am a new creation and God is faithful to forgive. Because of this, there is a hope that sustains me through times of uncertainty and keeps me moving forward. That is one of the main reasons why the song doesn't formally "end".I hope this song inspires you and makes you smile :-)To God be the Glory!

While this track wasn't originally created in mind for it, I am happy to have it included in another Lycan Dese Beats album. Music for a good cause is always worth it. This song is a little personal for me, and I think it tackles a part of the "magic of friendship" not discussed very often: forgiveness. A friendship won't last very long or be very deep without forgiveness. Sometimes, your friends will do something hurtful to you. Sometimes, you will do something hurtful to your friends, even if you don't realize it. If your friendship is true, the hurt may not be malicious, but it is still there. Forgiveness means that these things are not held against them or against you, and it is absolutely necessary to help a true friendship thrive. After all, it is impossible to hold a grudge if you forgive.I think that sunset shimmer is an excellent example of this, which is why in my headcanon she is the element of forgiveness.This song also has another meaning for me. As a follower of Jesus, I can't help but acknowledge Him in my music. You see, because there is evil in this world, we are separated from God. No matter how hard we try, we cannot bridge the gap on our own. Knowing this, God sent his son Jesus to live the perfect life we couldn't live, fully connected to the Father. Despite this, Jesus took on the punishment we deserve, dying a horrible, painful death. He was buried, but three days later he came back, offering forgiveness and salvation to all who will accept him. This salvation is often described as being "reborn": "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." (John 3:3)"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," (1 Peter 1:3)I can truly say that I am a different person because of Jesus. He has given me hope and a purpose. His invitation still stands, His hand is outstretched. If you have made it this far, thank you for your support.
